Cont. Ed. : Footcare Workshop for Licensed Practical Nurses

This workshop is designed to prepare licensed practical nurses to perform basic footcare using non-invasive techniques.

Facilitator

This workshop is facilitated by Masters prepared faculty at the Centre for Nursing Studies with extensive experience in the provision of footcare and footcare education.  The following includes an overview of the workshop.

Day One (1/2 Day)

Specific topics in the self-learning module include:

Learners must write a 50-item examination which tests the content presented in the module. Following the examination, a demonstration and a return demonstration of footcare procedures are presented. Learners must achieve 80% on the examination and be able to perform basic footcare at the end of the workshop.

Day Two

This day is spent performing footcare on residents in a long-term care setting. Learners are exposed to stable clients requiring basic footcare.

Cost

The cost of the two-day workshop is $150.00 and includes all materials required for the workshop.
