Cont. Ed. : Footcare Workshop for Licensed Practical Nurses

Specific topics in the self-learning module include:

• Anatomy and Physiology of the Normal Foot
• Assessment of the Foot and Nails
• Foot Pathologies
• Implementing Non-Invasive Footcare
• Footcare Equipment
• Health Teaching
• Evaluation, Reporting, and Recording

Learners must write a 50-item examination which tests the content presented in the module. Following the examination, a demonstration and a return demonstration of footcare procedures are presented. Learners must achieve 80% on the examination and be able to perform basic footcare at the end of the workshop.

Day Two

This day is spent performing footcare on residents in a long-term care setting. Learners are exposed to stable clients requiring basic footcare.

Cost

The cost of the two-day workshop is $150.00 and includes all materials required for the workshop.
